It says insert the tube 6-18” in the rectum but the tube has a tip on it. I’m confused and feel like that would hurt taking out with the tip.

    • Season says:

Hi Nicole – It may help to put just a touch of coconut oil on the tip for easier inserting, and if you insert it gently, it doesn’t hurt at all…both in inserting it and removing it. Hope that helps!

    • Grace says:

It says insert 2-4 inches. The bag is hung around 18 inches off the ground.

  2. Ashley says:

Do u recommend doing these when pregnant? What about caster oil packs? Im tryying to continue to detox while pregnant, in hopes to help clear my skin and encourage bowel movements.

    • Season says:

Hi Ashley – Great questions, and no, I don’t recommend doing either while pregnant. I actually don’t recommend that you focus on detoxing while pregnant, but have you thought about using essential oils to help you during your pregnancy? There are several good options that would help you with the health concerns you are wanting to address, so that would be my suggestion of where to start. Thanks!

  3. This is a very interesting read. I don’t know about coffee enema until I read this. Indeed with almost everything is using chemicals right now, I guess this is indeed worth a try. Thanks a lot for sharing.

  4. Andrew James says:

    Hello,
You say it is counter productive to hold the enema more than 15 minutes. But you don’t explain why. But you say you can do 2 enemas back to back. And that is 30 minutes all together. Can’t you just hold one enema for 30 minutes instead?

And also, why do you need to insert it 6-18 inches? Most coffee enema bags I have seen and used are 3 inches.

Thank you kindly for your reply.

    Andrew

    • Season says:

Hi Andrew – You’re welcome to insert the tub only 3 inches or as far as you feel comfortable. You just don’t want to exceed more than the 18 inches. And as far as the 15 minutes, this is more related to the absorption of the coffee and how it’s stimulating your body to detox. Some do find that the 1 longer “round” works fine for them, but this is just my recommendation. Thanks

      • R says:

I think you will find the Gerson protocol mentions six to EIGHT inches, as opposed to six to 18 inches. Also, if you leave the coffee inside for longer than 15 minutes you stand a chance of re-introducing toxins back into your system. just sayin’ ….

  5. Amy says:

    Hi,
Thank you for this article, but I’m confused—you say to insert the quart (4 cups) of coffee enema solution and wait approximately 15 minutes, eliminate, and insert the rest of the coffee and do steps 6-10 with the remaining coffee. What remaining coffee are you talking about? Do you only use some of the coffee for the first enema (not the full 4 cups)? If so, how much do you use for the first enema?

It sounds like you’re saying two back-to-back coffee enemas, but I can’t figure out from the article if you do two four-cup enemas, or use some of the coffee for the first one and some for the second one. Could you clarify? Thank you!

    • Season says:

Hi Amy – So sorry for the confusion. Be sure to read step #9…you’re only releasing 2 cups at a time, which leaves enough for 2 “rounds”. I hope this clarifies things for you. Thanks!

Thanks so much for presenting this to your “tribe”, Season. I think more people should be aware of how helpful coffee enemas can be. I’ve followed the Gerson technique for years. Recently I discovered MicrobeFormulas.com — Dr. Jay Davidson and Dr. Todd Watts. They are detox and coffee enema experts. I’ve learned from them that the tube only needs to go in 6″ because that is where the hemmoroidial tissue is and where the caffeine is absorbed.

  7. Sylvie says:

How many times per week can you safely do a coffee enema? Would you recommend more frequent enemas to start, and tapering off to a maintenance schedule (ie monthly) after that? Thank you!

    • Season says:

Each person is bioindividual, so it depends on your specific needs and why you’re doing them. At this time, I actually do them daily during the week and not always on the weekend due to a different schedule. I hope that helps.

  8. Karen a buitrago says:

Been doing coffee enemas for a couple of years. Usually around the full moon. Within 5 minutes I’m cramping like crazy. To the extent I have to start the Lamaze breathing from back in my child birthing years. Does this ever go away? Why does it hurt so bad?
I haven’t heard of anyone else having this pain.

    • Season says:

Hi – Yes, I’ve had clients that have experienced this, but they typically decrease and stop the more consistent you are with doing them. I do recommend working with a practitioner though to help you navigate your specific needs.

  9. Mandy says:

Is there any reason why you can’t lay on your left side instead of your right while holding the enema?

  10. Celia says:

Should you do coffee enemas during your cycle?
